Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of ambiguous and complex problem spaces within the squad.
- Provide guidance on system architecture and design across teams.
- Develop high-quality, scalable, and reliable software solutions.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Analysts, and Engineers.
- Mentor and develop a team of engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and planning.
- Investigate and prototype technologies that can introduce new innovations.
- Lead development of customer-facing, backend, data, or commerce experiences depending on team assignment.
- Use AI coding assistants and LLMs to accelerate development while validating their outputs.
- Work independently, take initiative, and drive solutions with limited guidance.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- 2+ years of experience contributing to system architecture and design
- Experience with Python, FastAPI, Pydantic, NumPy, Pandas, React, Node.js, and GraphQL, or willingness to learn the technology stack
- Experience with cloud systems, preferably AWS
- Knowledge of data platforms and pipelines, preferably Snowflake and Airflow
- Experience with relational or non-relational databases
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Interest in AI and ML and willingness to learn and apply emerging technologies
- Experience delivering customer value quickly and frequently with regular feedback and support
- Experience evaluating trade-offs between design approaches
- Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including testing, code reviews, and documentation
- Experience developing scalable systems
- Ability to use AI coding assistants and LLMs while evaluating generated outputs for security, performance, and accuracy
