Base Salary
$163k - $244k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a focused engineering team of software developers and testers working on automotive infotainment, telematics, and ADAS.
- Own the entire prototype-vehicle software system.
- Design and deliver automotive software modules across framework, middleware, interface, and hardware layers.
- Lead architectural analysis and system design for multi-OS virtualization and multi-domain boot architectures.
- Collaborate with Qualcomm teams and global external partners to gather requirements and deliver programs on schedule.
- Travel internationally on short notice and ride in vehicles for testing, data collection, and related activities.
- Support elevated workloads during critical program phases, particularly October through December.
- Occasionally lift, carry, and position equipment or vehicle components weighing up to 20 pounds over short distances.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 6+ years of software engineering or related experience; or a master’s degree plus 5+ years; or a PhD plus 4+ years.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing software modules in modern automotive software stacks on Android, Linux, or QNX.
- 5+ years of Android application development experience with strong knowledge of Android Automotive OS.
- 3+ years of experience leading global engineering teams and overseeing daily team activities.
- Hands-on experience with MQTT, DDS, SOME/IP, FlatBuffers, or Protocol Buffers.
- Experience developing non-cloud agentic AI solutions using LLMs, A2A, A2UI, and MCP servers.
- Experience with Git, Perforce, Android Studio, Visual Studio Code, and platform build systems.
- Experience analyzing architecture for multi-OS virtualization and multi-domain boot architecture.
- Experience using bottom-up and top-down design approaches based on end-to-end requirements analysis.
- Strong programming and debugging skills in C, C++, Java, JNI, Kotlin, and Python, plus knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
- 3+ years of work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for collaboration across global teams and partners.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 15+ years of relevant industry experience is listed as a preferred qualification.
- Experience building hardware systems or prototype vehicles is preferred.
