Responsibilities
- Improve code structure, architecture, readability, testing, and maintainability of production systems.
- Contribute to the visibility, operational readiness, and health of team-owned systems.
- Own larger pieces of work and contribute to design, technical, and implementation decisions.
- Influence the roadmap within the team and collaborate with other engineering teams.
- Participate in hiring and conduct engineering interviews.
- Support the personal growth and efficiency of engineering colleagues.
Requirements
- Experience writing web-based applications in any programming language.
- Interest in learning or experience with Go, Ruby/Rails, Python, Scala, or Rust.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Experience with web architecture at scale, including systems handling 20k RPM or more.
- Experience with NoSQL data backends such as Redis, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, or Memcache.
- Interest or experience in solving logistical problems with software.
- Commitment to producing readable, well-designed, and well-tested software.
