Base Salary

$212k - $286k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, development, testing, debugging, maintenance, and lifecycle ownership of embedded software for avionics devices and systems.
  • Translate customer requirements into embedded software product designs and oversee requirements traceability, architecture, interfaces, and code reviews.
  • Lead software and hardware integration, including emulated and target hardware, specialized hardware, and hardware-in-the-loop environments.
  • Review and improve the efficiency, stability, security, and resilience of embedded software systems.
  • Develop and execute automated test strategies for safety-critical software and oversee testing and debugging activities.
  • Research and implement relevant technologies, tools, frameworks, regulatory changes, and real-time software development practices.
  • Provide consultation on software and hardware integration and oversee supplier and internal software team performance against project and industry standards.
  • Oversee embedded software project management functions and lead developer productivity or DevSecOps adoption.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain an active U.S. Security Clearance, with U.S. citizenship required by the U.S. Government; an interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance is required post-start.
  • 10+ years of experience leading software development.
  • 10+ years of experience leading or supporting trade studies, business case development, work transfers, and/or statement-of-work management.
  • 10+ years of experience developing and implementing automated test strategies.
  • 5+ years of experience in leadership roles driving developer productivity or DevSecOps adoption.
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in computer engineering or a similar engineering discipline.
  • Preferred: Experience with software architecture and design methodologies, real-time software development and testing tools, emulated and hardware-in-the-loop environments, vulnerability mitigation, secure boot, encryption, key management, cross compilers, target debuggers, and test/performance instrumentation.
  • Preferred: Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, and software integration and debugging skills.

  • Summary pay range is $211,650 - $286,350, with competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities.
