Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end software, data, infrastructure, middleware, and integration architectures for complex payments technology solutions.
- Support the payments data domain, including the migration of the payments data store to Mongo Atlas and related payments initiatives.
- Define technology-stack principles, constraints, security and scalability approaches, and future-impact assessments.
- Lead code reviews, prototypes, integration and build automation, testing strategies, and production issue resolution.
- Set service-level objectives and develop observability standards for reliable, scalable production systems.
- Monitor architectural compliance, identify technology gaps and debt, and recommend resilient architectural improvements.
- Partner with engineers, designers, business stakeholders, governance, risk, compliance, and audit groups.
- Mentor and train junior colleagues, contribute to capability development, and provide technical thought leadership.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree or technical certificate; a graduate degree is preferred.
- 10+ years of relevant experience developing a variety of platforms.
- Experience in data architecture and familiarity with data-domain technologies.
- Understanding of domestic and international payment systems and engines.
- Deep understanding of MongoDB technology.
- Understanding of event-based architecture, Kafka, and microservices architecture.
- Understanding of public cloud ecosystems, primarily Azure, is an asset.
- Understanding of containerization technologies, primarily AKS and GDC/GKE, is an asset.
- Expert knowledge of architecture frameworks, technologies, tools, processes, and procedures, with experience working autonomously on complex or high-risk technology projects.
- Exceptional collaboration, communication, client-facing, business-acumen, and specialized technical skills.
- Experience with Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, pair programming, and/or Test-Driven Development is an asset.
- Ability to author unit, integration, and functional tests is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical-tool integrations in complex environments.
