Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain architecture for applications, infrastructure, middleware, data strategies, and technical integrations supporting the payments data domain.
  • Advise on technology stacks, security and scalability approaches, architectural constraints, impact assessments, and long-term technology vision.
  • Lead code reviews, prototypes, technical tool integrations, configuration management, build automation, and deployment activities.
  • Design tests, support issue analysis and fixes, and assist with production issue resolution.
  • Set service-level objectives and develop reliability, scalability, observability, and architectural infrastructure standards.
  • Lead interactions with governance, regulatory risk, compliance, and audit groups on technology architecture and tooling risks.
  • Monitor project and product progress, ensure compliance with architecture standards, and identify architectural gaps and technology debt.
  • Mentor and train junior colleagues, contribute to capability development, and collaborate with engineers, designers, business stakeholders, and technical leadership.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or technical certificate; a graduate degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience developing a variety of platforms.
  • Experience in data architecture and familiarity with data domain technologies.
  • Understanding of domestic and international payment systems and engines.
  • Deep understanding of MongoDB technology.
  • Understanding of event-based architecture, Kafka, and microservices architecture.
  • Understanding of public cloud ecosystems, primarily Azure, and containerization technologies, primarily AKS and GDC/GKE.
  • Demonstrated experience with broad architecture frameworks, technologies, tools, processes, and procedures in complex environments.
  • Exceptional collaboration, communication, and client-facing skills with the ability to work autonomously on high-profile, complex, or high-risk projects.
  • Experience with continuous integration, continuous delivery, pair programming, and/or test-driven development is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical tool integration in a complex environment.
