Responsibilities
- Design, implement, scale, and maintain backend systems that process large volumes of data.
- Build event-driven and API-based integrations and contribute to migration toward a scalable domain-based architecture.
- Optimize software for performance-sensitive, high-throughput, low-latency workflows.
- Investigate complex technical problems and propose solutions collaboratively.
- Work autonomously across the Outcomes, Methodology, and Recruitment teams and with product and data science partners.
- Influence and help raise the technical level of junior and mid-level engineers.
Requirements
- 10+ years of backend software engineering experience with strong technical depth.
- Experience building or maintaining complex, real-time, high-volume systems with high throughput and low latency.
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, Big O notation, and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with Python and/or PySpark and familiarity with Spark, Apache ecosystem tools, Delta Lake, Parquet, and Kafka.
- Experience with Docker, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with API integrations and performance-oriented, production-critical environments.
- Computer science, computer engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with AWS, GCP, Pandas, Spring, microservices, and large-scale data or analytics environments.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaborative working skills.
