Base Salary
$131k - $237k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead development of innovative enterprise software products and solutions for SSA’s digital modernization strategy.
- Evaluate technology advancements and recommend solutions that improve developer experience and software delivery efficiency.
- Mentor and coach technical staff while shaping product vision and supporting multiple internal and external initiatives.
- Provide architectural guidance, technical leadership, and solutions across multiple complex projects.
- Advise on strategic client outputs, business results, processes, standards, and operational plans.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to teams of more than 15 developers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field and 12 years of experience, with additional experience substituting for the degree.
- Master’s or Doctorate degree may substitute for required experience.
- At least 12 years of experience programming and designing software with Java.
- At least 7 years of experience on an Agile development team, preferably using Scaled Agile Framework.
- Prior Social Security Administration experience is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
- Extensive Java experience plus experience with an additional language such as Node.js, Groovy, .NET, JavaScript, or Python.
- Experience migrating legacy applications to containerized solutions such as OpenShift or Kubernetes.
- Experience architecting and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS or a similar cloud platform.
- Experience identifying requirements, researching options, and designing and implementing solutions at a leadership level.
- Experience with testing tools such as Selenium.
- Experience with Jenkins, Git or Bitbucket, Jira, Nexus, Maven, OpenShift, and UrbanCode Deploy.
- Experience providing architectural guidance across multiple projects and technical leadership to large development teams.
- Desired qualifications include Section 508 web application experience, technical white papers and systems design documents, federal or state government IT project experience, and anti-fraud application experience.
