Base Salary
$112k - $203k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and optimize compiler transformations, code analysis tools, and debugging toolchains.
- Optimize LLVM/GCC backends and intermediate representations for ARM64 and x86 architectures.
- Develop runtime diagnostic tools and enhance GDB/LLDB debugging capabilities.
- Build automated validation pipelines, regression testing frameworks, and performance benchmark suites using Python and Linux shell utilities.
- Advance DWARF debug format capabilities and contribute to open-source toolchain projects.
- Configure, cross-compile, and package toolchains for Embedded Linux, RTOS, and distributed networking operating systems.
- Integrate AI-assisted developer productivity tooling into engineering workflows.
Requirements
- A recently completed or soon-to-be-completed Master’s degree with 0 years of work experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of work experience, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in C and C++17/C++20, including systems programming, memory management, pointer arithmetic, and core algorithms.
- Academic research, project, or industry experience with compiler construction, intermediate representations, code generation, or LLVM/GCC backend infrastructure.
- Understanding of ARM64 or x86 architecture, assembly language, operating system internals, and runtime debugging fundamentals.
- Preferred experience contributing to or extending LLVM, Clang, GCC, GDB, or LLDB, including custom LLVM optimization passes or toolchain diagnostics.
- Preferred familiarity with DWARF, ELF object files, symbol resolution, LLD, Gold, and GNU Binutils.
- Preferred experience with automated regression testing, performance benchmarking, Python, Linux shell utilities, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Preferred experience with Embedded Linux, RTOS, or large-scale distributed networking operating systems.
