Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design and delivery of complex full-stack capabilities from Next.js interfaces through FastAPI services and Cloud Spanner or BigQuery data stores.
- Set technical direction for TypeScript, React, Next.js App Router, server and client components, BFF patterns, component libraries, and front-end performance standards.
- Architect, build, and operate Python and FastAPI microservices using Pydantic, SQLAlchemy, dependency injection, asynchronous patterns, REST APIs, and GraphQL APIs.
- Lead the integration of GenAI and LLM capabilities using Vertex AI, Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain, and LangGraph, including prompt design, evaluation, guardrails, and cost and latency optimization.
- Design and operate GCP services including Cloud Run, Cloud Workflows, Cloud Build, Pub/Sub, Secret Manager, and Cloud Logging.
- Own transactional and analytical data integrations with BigQuery and Cloud Spanner and support embedded Looker and LookML reporting.
- Design and harden integrations with social platforms, influencer marketplaces, web-scraping and content-extraction pipelines, and internal systems.
- Extend Terraform modules and self-service infrastructure patterns for GCP projects, landing zones, provisioning, and policy guardrails.
- Define testing and quality standards using unit, integration, and end-to-end testing and tools such as pytest, jest, Playwright, SonarQube, Snyk, and gitleaks.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, lead code reviews, establish technical standards, and drive performance, reliability, security, and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Partner with product managers, business analysts, architects, and QA to shape requirements and translate architecture into delivery plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Extensive full-stack software engineering and web application development experience with a record of leading production systems end to end.
- Deep expertise in web architecture, microservice design, and architecture-level decision-making.
- Expert hands-on proficiency with TypeScript, React 18+, Next.js App Router, Python 3.11+, FastAPI, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy, and asynchronous programming patterns.
- Strong production experience with GCP services, Terraform, Docker, containerized development, and deployment.
- Demonstrated experience integrating GenAI and LLM services such as Vertex AI, Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain, or LangGraph into production applications.
- Advanced TypeScript, Python, and SQL skills and strong command of REST, GraphQL, OpenAPI/Swagger, and secure coding practices.
- Experience defining test strategies, writing automated tests, and integrating quality and security tooling into CI/CD pipelines.
- Working knowledge of the OWASP Top 10, input validation, parameterized queries, HTTPS-only practices, and secret management.
- Experience mentoring engineers, leading code reviews, driving technical standards, and communicating technical trade-offs across functions.
- Preferred qualifications include Looker or LookML analytics, Redux Toolkit, enterprise data grids, platform or self-service tooling, and relevant GCP, Terraform, or Azure certifications.
