Base Salary

$143k - $304k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Architect complex data integration products end to end, including design documents, trade-off evaluation, performance, scalability, and resiliency.
  • Set technical direction across the engineering lifecycle and collaborate with partner teams to resolve dependencies and ownership conflicts.
  • Translate customer and user requirements into technical direction for data pipelines, dataflows, authoring, runtime execution, monitoring, and diagnostics.
  • Improve AI tools and practices used across the software development lifecycle while taking ownership of AI-generated assets.
  • Lead code quality through reviews, engineering standards, security, compliance, mentoring, and automated analysis.
  • Design test strategies covering regression prevention, security testing, edge cases, negative cases, and testable code.
  • Drive automation, zero-touch deployment, security-as-code, threat modeling, compliance evidence, safe-change practices, feature flighting, and rollback planning.
  • Own live-site reliability as a Designated Responsible Individual by managing telemetry, observability, incidents, postmortems, root-cause fixes, troubleshooting guides, and on-call practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • Preferred: master’s degree and 8+ years of technical engineering experience, or a bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience, including TypeScript or Python.
  • Preferred: experience designing scalable products, services, and systems using distributed systems, algorithm design, scalable application architecture, and software engineering principles.
  • Preferred: strong written and verbal communication, English proficiency, stakeholder collaboration, negotiation, data-driven problem-solving, and project and product lifecycle practices.
