Base Salary
$120k - $261k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build, optimize, debug, refactor, and maintain extensible software for large-scale data integration and replication services.
- Use debugging tools, logs, telemetry, metrics, and retrospective analysis to identify root causes and improve quality and stability.
- Review code for reliability, accuracy, diagnosability, maintainability, scale, and adherence to coding standards.
- Lead architecture discussions, test design hypotheses, create design documents, and own selected technical and architectural decisions.
- Develop comprehensive testing strategies, improve test coverage, and drive test automation and continuous integration of testing features.
- Identify dependencies and downstream or upstream effects across products, services, platforms, teams, and technologies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align on user requirements and incorporate customer feedback, usage patterns, and value metrics.
- Pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 8+ years of technical engineering experience, or a master’s degree and 6+ years of technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale services or products.
- Experience leading complex cross-team initiatives.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud computing, system architecture, performance and scalability, and security and reliability engineering.
- Proficiency in C#, Java, C++, Python, Go, and Azure technologies.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
Benefits
- The typical U.S. base pay range is USD $119,800–$234,700 per year, with a separate range of USD $160,200–$261,000 per year for specified San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area locations.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
