Responsibilities
- Architect, code, and deploy software solutions integrating mathematical algorithms and machine learning models into travel platforms.
- Prototype and scale AI innovations for travel management, agency automation, itinerary optimization, and conversational commerce.
- Design end-to-end systems using large language models for agency support, intent recognition, and workflow automation.
- Modernize legacy automation logic into GCP-based AI architectures and optimize high-impact GDS workflows.
- Define AI lifecycle and MLOps standards for reliable model performance across changing travel data.
- Develop research-grade prototypes into production-quality, low-latency systems using Python and C++.
- Align technical roadmaps with architects, product managers, and business goals including NDC adoption and travel cost optimization.
- Advocate for agentic AI in mission-critical, high-availability environments.
- Mentor junior data scientists and engineers and promote rigorous experimentation and engineering excellence.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of related experience in Data Science, AI Engineering, or Operations Research.
- Advanced optimization modeling experience with Linear Programming, Mixed-Integer Programming, and solvers such as Gurobi or CPLEX.
- Advanced degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Physics; a PhD is preferred.
- Experience moving complex models from research into global production environments.
- Expertise in Deep Learning, Reinforcement Learning, and Natural Language Processing.
- Mastery of Python and C++ for computationally intensive and latency-sensitive applications.
- Knowledge of GCP, Vertex AI, BigQuery ML, MLOps tools, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with generative AI frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex and RAG-based systems.
- Ability to lead complex cross-functional projects with minimal direction.
- Travel industry or airline operations domain experience is desirable.
- Experience with high-volume, real-time data from GDS, OTA, and airline sources is desirable.
