Responsibilities
- Ship production generative AI features that improve commercial customer workflows.
- Design and improve LLM-based systems for intent interpretation, context retrieval, tool and API calls, and multi-step workflow coordination.
- Build agent orchestration, function-calling, structured-output, conversation-state, workflow-automation, and human-in-the-loop patterns.
- Develop summaries, recommendations, alerts, and decision-support experiences from complex operational signals.
- Create evaluation datasets, test harnesses, regression testing, groundedness checks, guardrails, safety controls, and prompt-injection defenses.
- Implement monitoring for latency, cost, quality, and traceability to support production debugging and responsible AI operations.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, data, security, and business teams to move prototypes into maintainable production services.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience building production backend services, APIs, data products, or AI-enabled applications.
- 3+ years demonstrating strong programming skills in Python, Kotlin, or Java.
- 2+ years of practical experience using LLM APIs or building generative AI-enabled applications.
- 2+ years of experience with prompt engineering, RAG, tool calling, function calling, or structured model outputs.
- 2+ years of experience working with SQL and structured data.
- 2+ years of experience deploying or operating software in a cloud environment, preferably GCP.
- 2+ years demonstrating a strong understanding of testing, monitoring, reliability, and maintainable software design.
- Preferred: 1+ years collaborating with product managers, engineers, data teams, and business stakeholders.
- Preferred: 1+ years deploying agentic AI-based applications in enterprise production environments.
