Responsibilities
- Own shared backend services for real-time clinical AI, including audio streaming, note generation, LLM orchestration, and access control.
- Design, build, evaluate, deploy, and monitor real-time and background AI agents and multi-agent systems.
- Develop tool-calling, MCP, evaluation, safe rollout, and production observability capabilities.
- Evolve partner-facing gRPC and REST APIs and SDKs.
- Scale messaging, storage, and data infrastructure on Kubernetes and GCP while meeting HIPAA and SOC 2 standards.
- Use AI coding agents and help establish development tooling, review practices, auto-verification, and self-improvement loops.
- Drive design reviews, mentor engineers, and remain hands-on in critical code and incidents.
Requirements
- 7+ years of backend engineering experience, including technical leadership on large-scale systems.
- Expertise in Go or Python, gRPC, Protocol Buffers, and REST APIs.
- Deep knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures such as Pub/Sub and Kafka.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, GCP, and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
- Experience working with AI coding agents such as Claude Code or Cursor, including verifying their output and building auto-verification and self-improvement loops.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Preferred experience designing, evaluating, and operating LLM or multi-agent systems in production.
- Preferred experience with real-time streaming or speech/audio pipelines, healthcare interoperability such as FHIR and HL7, EHR integrations, or ML infrastructure at scale.
