Base Salary
$190k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and own production-grade simulation and forecasting software for Rune’s logistics forecaster.
- Implement mathematical models, numerical methods, and scientific formulas in software where correctness depends on physics or mathematics.
- Integrate simulation capabilities into TyrOS workflows with the forecaster lead and platform team.
- Participate in technical design discussions and code reviews.
- Triage and debug production issues to maintain reliability and support rapid iteration.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and military stakeholders on sustainment requirements.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience in a scientific or mathematically complex domain such as sensor algorithms, motion planning, simulation, or forecasting.
- Ability to implement mathematical models and numerical methods in code and reason about correctness using physics or mathematics.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, or Go.
- Strong production-quality software engineering foundation rather than an analysis- or research-only focus.
- Math or science background through a degree, graduate work, or professional domain experience.
- Strong ownership and bias for action.
- Preferred: hands-on engineering experience at a defense-adjacent autonomous systems company.
- Preferred: degree or graduate degree in physics, applied mathematics, aerospace, mechanical engineering, or a related scientific field.
- Preferred: familiarity with numerical simulation frameworks or scientific computing libraries.
- Preferred: experience deploying software to production environments, including cloud and edge infrastructure.
