Senior Backend Engineer, Markets Engineering

Responsibilities
- Build pipelines that automate market creation, parameter configuration, and lifecycle management across thousands of concurrent markets.
- Develop reliable resolution infrastructure integrating external oracles, news feeds, sports APIs, and other real-world data sources.
- Design event-driven automation that responds to real-world triggers using messaging and streaming platforms.
- Maintain correctness, availability, and scalability across market systems and diagnose production issues.
- Collaborate with product, infrastructure, data, and markets operations engineers.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and architectural decisions.
Requirements
- 4–7+ years of professional backend development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python or Go, or experience with Rust, Java, or another comparable language.
- Understanding of distributed systems, data pipelines, and event-driven architecture.
- Experience owning production systems end to end, including correctness and reliability.
- Experience building automation systems, workflow orchestration, or third-party data and API integrations.
- Comfort debugging complex systems on Linux.
- Prediction markets, financial data, or real-world event detection experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with news feeds, sports APIs, oracles, and similar external data sources is a plus.
- Production experience with Kafka, Pulsar, or similar streaming platforms at scale is a plus.
- Experience deploying systems in AWS or GCP and using containers is a plus.
