Base Salary
$120k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of change-management features and services in Azure Compute.
- Identify dependencies and author design documents, project plans, release plans, and work items.
- Develop high-quality, extensible, and maintainable code while coaching other engineers.
- Support live-site operations as a Designated Responsible Individual, including monitoring systems, participating in on-call work, and responding to service degradation or interruptions.
- Improve availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, performance, monitoring, and operations at scale.
- Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to integrate predictive failure models that detect hardware anomalies and trigger live migrations.
- Embed AI-driven diagnostics, root cause analysis, anomaly detection, and trend analysis into availability services and observability pipelines.
- Integrate large-scale AI models into control plane services to support context-aware repair decisions across Azure virtual machines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Experience coding in one or more of C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred: master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience, or bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
Benefits
- Base pay is listed as USD $119,800-$234,700 per year across the U.S.; location-specific ranges apply in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
- The position will remain open for at least five days and accepts applications on an ongoing basis until filled.
