Responsibilities
- Own the design and development of application sub-components and scalable, reusable capabilities.
- Develop and support the Loan Portfolio Mitigation Application using Java microservices.
- Provide technical oversight across the application and remain accountable for Java development activities.
- Mentor and guide a small team of Java developers.
- Collaborate with business analysts, business users, development teams, and quality assurance teams to deliver and test requirements.
- Identify and resolve technical, architectural, infrastructure, and process roadblocks.
- Track and communicate delivery progress to senior technology leads and stakeholders each sprint.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in Information Technology.
- Proven experience designing and developing enterprise-scale applications.
- Expertise in Java 17 or later, microservices, Spring Boot, Spring JPA, and the OpenShift ecosystem.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server databases and complex SQL query writing and tuning.
- Working knowledge of RESTful APIs, caching frameworks, password and secret vaults, logging frameworks, and scheduling tools.
- Experience with development AI tools including Copilot, Claude, Devin, and Cursor, including efficient prompt writing.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and processes including Sonar, Harness, Tekton, and Git.
- Expertise with unit, integration, and functional testing tools including JUnit and Selenium.
- Working knowledge of Agile methodologies, Scrum, Jira, and sprint delivery practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science, or equivalent experience.
- Java and Spring certification is preferred.
- Experience with Hadoop, Spark, Spark SQL, Hive, Cloudera, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Angular, or React is preferred.
