Responsibilities
- Engineer resilient inter-office integrations and workflows for the LMEsmart trading platform.
- Automate recovery, price-band governance, and real-time matching-performance reporting to reduce manual effort and improve compliance.
- Develop test tooling and frameworks, onboard vendor tools, analyze requirements, and deploy and document solutions.
- Execute and evolve automated test suites with actionable management information and reporting.
- Manage test environments and document application codebases and underlying infrastructure.
- Design and implement software and algorithms capable of handling high-frequency market data.
- Build and optimize high-throughput, low-latency Java services and complex cloud network topologies.
- Communicate technical insights clearly with IT, business stakeholders, and other audiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline; Mathematics or Physics may also be considered, with a Master’s degree preferred.
- At least 5 years of software development experience with Java and the JVM, including performance optimization and profiling.
- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and usage patterns across at least one major cloud vendor.
- Knowledge of off-heap and memory-mapped file-based data structures and JVM optimization.
- Experience with distributed systems, data streaming such as Kafka, and big-data processing paradigms.
- Experience with Git, highly available services, secure software development, and DevSecOps principles.
- Understanding of containers, Kubernetes, cloud network topologies, and application scaling for high-frequency market data.
- Knowledge of software, application, and algorithm design and implementation.
- Bonus experience with React.js, Python, Redis, Couchbase, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Docker, AWS, and CloudFormation.
- Strong written and verbal communication, collaborative relationship-building, proactive planning, pragmatic judgment, and attention to detail.
