Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural evolution of personalization across Google Search.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
- Lead ML design and optimize ML infrastructure, including model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, and fine-tuning.
- Work on AI personalization, classifiers, machine learning, ranking, generative AI, LLM-powered automation, and investigative workflows.
- Develop with Java, Kotlin, C++, and Python for model validation and Colabs.
- Work with Magi Response Server (MaRS), Superroot, QFlow, GWS plugins, and Magit/Silfra Orchestration.
- Work with Gemini, Orbit/Nemo triggering classifiers, Sian integrations, Anima, Footprints, online autoraters, EAS, SAIL, and Sherlog.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables while solving ambiguous engineering problems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in speech/audio, reinforcement learning, ML infrastructure, or another machine learning field.
- At least 5 years of experience leading ML design and optimizing ML infrastructure.
- At least 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
- At least 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
- Experience integrating generative AI tools or Large Language Model interfaces into workflows.
- Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Preferred: experience building or leveraging agentic frameworks and LLM-powered automation, plus experience with classifiers, machine learning, AI, ranking, and research.
- Candidates should have AI fluency and be prepared to discuss their knowledge of AI tools during the hiring process.
