Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain end-to-end software and infrastructure architecture for HCI-based products.
  • Ensure architectural consistency across virtualization, deployment, networking, and security domains.
  • Architect solutions supporting multiple hypervisors, including XCP-NG and KVM-based platforms.
  • Guide adaptations of deployment and orchestration tools for different platforms.
  • Promote reuse of existing tools, frameworks, and commercial or open-source solutions.
  • Identify and formalize administration use cases for virtualized environments.
  • Ensure compliance with secure boot, platform security, and lifecycle-security principles.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity stakeholders to validate system hardening and trust chains.
  • Define network architecture principles covering VLAN design and high-bandwidth requirements.
  • Assess technology-obsolescence risks and support sustainable architectures.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Linux systems and low-level operating-system concepts.
  • Solid understanding of virtualization fundamentals, including VM lifecycle, isolation, networking, and storage.
  • Hands-on experience with hypervisor technologies such as Xen, KVM, or Harvester.
  • Understanding of Kubernetes and container concepts, including clusters, workloads, and lifecycle.
  • Ability to design hybrid virtual-machine and container architectures.
  • Strong understanding of networking principles, including VLANs, segmentation, and latency considerations.
  • Awareness of security and isolation mechanisms in virtualized platforms, including secure boot concepts.
  • Experience with automation, deployment, or platform tooling and orchestration concepts.
  • Ability to work in multi-hypervisor environments and understand nested virtualization concepts.
