Base Salary

$118k - $220k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Architect highly available, fault-tolerant, scalable, secure, cost-effective, and high-performance AWS environments.
  • Define enterprise-wide AWS architecture patterns, frameworks, governance, and best practices, including multi-account strategy with AWS Control Tower, Organizations, and IAM.
  • Architect hybrid-cloud and multi-cloud solutions integrating on-premises and SaaS platforms with AWS.
  • Design and optimize Kubernetes-based microservices architectures, networking, ingress, service mesh, and secure workloads.
  • Lead Infrastructure as Code and automation using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and AWS CDK.
  • Implement automated provisioning, configuration management, scaling, failover, self-healing, and multi-region high-availability strategies.
  • Establish zero-trust security, encryption, least-privilege IAM, security automation, and compliance practices for SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and GDPR.
  • Optimize serverless, event-driven, storage, database, and real-time application architectures using AWS services.
  • Establish enterprise cloud monitoring, logging, event correlation, incident response, automated remediation, predictive analytics, and anomaly detection practices.
  • Mentor Principal and Senior Cloud Engineers, lead technical reviews and AWS Well-Architected Framework assessments, and contribute to industry events, open-source projects, and technical blogging.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of IT experience, including at least 7+ years focused on AWS cloud engineering, architecture, and automation.
  • Deep AWS expertise with EC2, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, VPC, CloudFormation, IAM, Transit Gateway, and Route 53.
  • Expertise in Kubernetes architecture, including EKS, Helm, DaemonSets, StatefulSets, Karpenter, external-dns, and aws-cni.
  • Advanced Infrastructure as Code expertise with Terraform, AWS CDK, and CloudFormation.
  • Proficiency with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, and Azure DevOps.
  • Mastery of AWS networking, including VPC design, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, PrivateLink, and Route 53 latency-based routing.
  • Deep expertise in security and compliance frameworks and tools including IAM, AWS KMS, AWS Secrets Manager, WAF, and AWS Shield.
  • Experience designing high-scale, production-grade automation solutions using Python, Bash, or Go.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional is highly preferred; AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, and AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional are relevant certifications, with the latter listed as a plus.
  • Ability to architect and optimize large-scale AWS environments, mentor engineers, communicate with executive stakeholders, work independently, collaborate across engineering, security, and operations, and stay current with cloud innovation.
