Base Salary

$197k - $247k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain full-stack HR Experience features.
  • Write clean, tested, and maintainable code across frontend, backend, and data layers.
  • Own projects end-to-end from scoping and technical design through implementation, deployment, testing, and monitoring.
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, retrospectives, on-call rotation, and incident response.
  • Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Monitor and improve feature reliability, performance, and quality.
  • Provide technical guidance and code-review mentorship to less-tenured engineers.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including full-stack work.
  • Ability to independently design, build, and ship features spanning frontend, backend, and data layers.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one backend language/framework such as Ruby on Rails, Node.js, or Python/Django, and one frontend framework such as React or TypeScript.
  • Understanding of relational database schema design, migrations, and query performance.
  • Experience owning projects with minimal oversight and applying software engineering fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, automated testing, and CI/CD.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally and communicating clearly through written and verbal communication, including technical design documents.
  • Preferred: experience in HR technology, payroll, or fintech; designing REST or GraphQL APIs; and accessibility best practices.
