Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day technical implementation of AWS cloud operations, application deployments, and the MVP.
- Provision and configure cloud infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, and AWS services.
- Develop and maintain automation and CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments.
- Design and package applications using containers and orchestration tooling.
- Configure logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, monitoring, and cloud operations using SRE practices.
- Create and optimize AWS environments and resources, including networking, IAM, security, compute, storage, and databases.
- Support AWS services and integrations including S3, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, AWS Config, Security Hub, IAM, KMS, ECS/Fargate, Athena/Glue, and QuickSight.
- Write Python, Bash, and PowerShell scripts to automate repetitive tasks.
- Support API and third-party service integrations, including Databricks.
- Lead cloud migration and modernization efforts, workload assessment, right-sizing, and cost optimization.
- Produce cost-and-capacity reports, technical documentation, architecture diagrams, onboarding guides, and implementation playbooks.
- Respond to incidents, troubleshoot performance issues, analyze logs and metrics, and support application and infrastructure health.
- Collaborate with application developers, cyber teams, operations teams, and business stakeholders to deliver cloud solutions.
Requirements
- US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret-eligible clearance.
- At least 8 years of work experience with a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 8 years of progressive cloud infrastructure experience and 5 or more years of AWS cloud engineering experience.
- Deep hands-on AWS solution design experience with VPC, IAM, EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, Transit Gateway, KMS, Organizations, Control Tower, PrivateLink, Direct Connect, and Site-to-Site VPN.
- At least 5 years of scripting experience with Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
- At least 3 years of experience developing AWS policies as code using JSON and using the AWS CLI.
- At least 2 years of experience with AWS cloud-native security services such as GuardDuty, Security Hub, and Inspector.
- Experience architecting in FedRAMP Moderate, FedRAMP High, DoD IL4-5, or similar compliance environments, including familiarity with NIST 800-53 and NIST 800-171 control families.
- At least 2 years of experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines.
- At least 3 years of experience with cloud-native and serverless architectures, Lambda, API Gateway, microservices, and containerization.
- AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer – Associate or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate certification is preferred.
- Preferred qualifications include Databricks implementation, Azure administration and hybrid/multi-cloud architecture experience, Microsoft .NET experience, ATO and continuous monitoring experience, AWS AI services experience, and familiarity with DevSecOps and AI security governance.
