Responsibilities
- Define and maintain reliability metrics, SLOs, SLIs, alerts, and error budgets aligned with business and operational goals.
- Design and implement monitoring and observability solutions using dashboards, alerts, metrics, logs, traces, and observability platforms.
- Architect and scale reliable cloud infrastructure for multiple business applications.
- Build automated quality gates and integrate reliability and performance checks into release engineering and CI/CD pipelines.
- Support incident response, analyze outages, conduct post-mortems, and recommend preventive measures.
- Apply AI and GenAI to anomaly detection, signal summarization, triage, root-cause analysis, guided investigations, and next-best-action recommendations.
- Monitor AI workloads for quality, safety, cost, latency, reliability, tracing, and secure logging and redaction.
- Lead the release DevOps team in integrating reliability gates and influence platform standards across organizations.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or SRE.
- 7+ years of experience with observability practices, including SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, alerting, and incident management.
- 7+ years building production-grade backend services in Java or Python.
- 7+ years implementing and operating OpenTelemetry, including OTLP, semantic conventions, and instrumentation patterns.
- 7+ years with Docker, Kubernetes, Argo CD, and other cloud-native or containerized platforms.
- 7+ years working with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- 5+ years designing and scaling distributed, high-volume data pipelines.
- 5+ years with Grafana OSS or comparable observability backends such as Loki, Tempo, and Prometheus.
- 5+ years with relational databases including PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Preferred experience includes Envoy, Istio, Splunk, AppDynamics, Kafka, Pulsar, ClickHouse, Bigtable, Cassandra, Terraform, CloudFormation, chaos engineering, resiliency testing, fault injection, cost optimization, capacity planning, security-aware platform design, mentoring, and 24x7 production support.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required; a high school diploma plus four years of relevant experience is accepted.
