Responsibilities

  • Translate product requirements into scalable software designs and components.
  • Build modular, extensible, maintainable, and performant Java applications and microservices.
  • Contribute to software architecture decisions, technical design discussions, code reviews, and engineering quality standards.
  • Design, execute, and maintain unit, functional, and integration tests.
  • Improve application performance, scalability, observability, operational readiness, and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot application and production issues using structured root cause analysis.
  • Support applications throughout their lifecycle, including production support.
  • Research technologies and engineering practices and participate in proof-of-concepts and technical experimentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver business solutions.
  • Apply secure coding practices and comply with Mastercard security policies and training requirements.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, Kafka, RESTful Web Services, and JPA.
  • Experience developing cloud-ready applications and microservices.
  • Understanding of software architecture and design principles.
  • Experience with automated, unit, and integration testing.
  • Familiarity with performance optimization and scalability concepts.
  • Understanding of secure software development practices and experience participating in code reviews.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Exposure to CI/CD and Test-Driven Development practices.
  • Experience or exposure to AI-assisted applications, autonomous agents, or agentic workflows.
  • Agile Scrum experience.
