Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain highly available, massively scaled CloudWatch systems.
- Develop telemetry collection agents in Rust and Go for metrics, logs, and traces.
- Engage with upstream open-source communities, including OpenTelemetry.
- Expand services across AWS Regions and investigate root causes when issues arise.
- Implement fixes that prevent recurring operational issues.
- Mentor junior engineers and help grow the team’s technical capabilities.
- Use GenAI and AI-powered development tools to enhance productivity.
Requirements
- Professional, non-internship software development experience.
- Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Strong programming skills in at least two of Rust, Go, Java, C++, and Python.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Preferred: experience with the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: enthusiasm for open source and contributions to projects such as OpenTelemetry, potentially demonstrated through a GitHub portfolio.
