Base Salary
$200k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and extend the core double-entry ledger, including accounts, postings, account types, and ledger structures.
- Own the chart of accounts and reporting surfaces connecting engineering data to financial statements and downstream reporting.
- Develop balance verification, reconciliation, and proof-of-reserve mechanisms across on-chain and off-chain systems.
- Review new product designs for legal entity ownership, ledger placement, pricing, and reconciliation requirements before launch.
- Design extensible data models for financial products such as margin, lending, staking, and tokenized assets.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Finance, Data Engineering, and Product on shared technical and financial-system designs.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend software engineering experience.
- Working knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, chart-of-accounts design, financial statements, reconciliation, and audit requirements.
- Experience owning data-model design for systems where correctness is a core product requirement.
- Strong extensible system-design skills, including schemas and APIs that can evolve with new requirements.
- Ability to read and critique technical designs across multiple systems.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills.
- Preferred experience with crypto or blockchain infrastructure, on-chain balance models, custody, or wallet architecture.
- Preferred experience with event-driven or Kafka-based service architectures.
- Prior embedded accounting-architecture or financial-systems design-review experience at a fintech or crypto company is preferred.
