Responsibilities

  • Interface with customers, product managers, and hardware engineers to define network systems features.
  • Architect, design, and manage development of hardware-control and network systems software.
  • Develop and maintain features using C, C++, and Python, including software abstractions for hardware drivers.
  • Build automated tests and test infrastructure and maintain responsibility for delivered software quality.
  • Collaborate with hardware and manufacturing teams on hardware design, bring-up, and product commercialization.
  • Analyze and resolve customer-network and system-test problems and provide software fixes.
  • Provide technical leadership across features, projects, and tools and mentor new and junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or computer engineering plus four years of experience.
  • Expert knowledge of C or C++ and Python.
  • Knowledge of UNIX or Linux.
  • Hands-on experience designing and developing hardware device drivers and/or system management utilities.
  • Understanding of IP networking or distributed systems is a plus.
  • Experience with low-level hardware components is a plus.
  • Applied understanding of software engineering principles and strong problem-solving and software-troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to independently design and implement solutions and work in small teams.
