Responsibilities
- Interface with customers, product managers, and hardware engineers to define network systems features.
- Architect, design, and manage development of hardware-control and network systems software.
- Develop and maintain features using C, C++, and Python, including software abstractions for hardware drivers.
- Build automated tests and test infrastructure and maintain responsibility for delivered software quality.
- Collaborate with hardware and manufacturing teams on hardware design, bring-up, and product commercialization.
- Analyze and resolve customer-network and system-test problems and provide software fixes.
- Provide technical leadership across features, projects, and tools and mentor new and junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or computer engineering plus four years of experience.
- Expert knowledge of C or C++ and Python.
- Knowledge of UNIX or Linux.
- Hands-on experience designing and developing hardware device drivers and/or system management utilities.
- Understanding of IP networking or distributed systems is a plus.
- Experience with low-level hardware components is a plus.
- Applied understanding of software engineering principles and strong problem-solving and software-troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to independently design and implement solutions and work in small teams.
