Base Salary

$196k - $255k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Build and evolve Airbyte's AI-powered Integration Factory.
  • Design intelligent systems that generate, validate, repair, and maintain connectors automatically.
  • Develop shared tooling, frameworks, and internal developer platforms used across integrations.
  • Build highly reliable database connectors with support for database-specific capabilities.
  • Improve connector reliability by detecting, diagnosing, and remediating production issues.
  • Build infrastructure for managing dependency updates and release automation.
  • Contribute to Airbyte's AI Skills repository and establish patterns for AI-assisted development.
  • Drive improvements in engineering velocity through automation and reusable tooling.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for production issues.
  • Collaborate across engineering to enhance internal developer experience.
  • Mentor engineers and lead design reviews and documentation.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience building production systems.
  • Strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and others.
  • Deep understanding of SQL, query optimization, and database internals.
  • Experience with AI-assisted software development and LLMs in engineering workflows.
  • Experience building or operating distributed systems in production.
  • Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or another JVM language.
  • Experience building developer tooling, automation, or CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong debugging skills for complex production issues.
  • Curiosity about automating engineering work.
  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to influence technical direction across teams.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
