Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based microservices for replacing the legacy clearing platform.
- Build secure, reliable, high-volume interfaces, RESTful APIs, and integration services across clearing, settlement, and downstream systems.
- Develop Apache Kafka producers, consumers, and streaming integrations for near-real-time processing.
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized applications on the OpenShift Container Platform.
- Collaborate with architects and technical leads to implement cloud-native target-state architectures.
- Participate in requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Create scalable, secure, and backward-compatible APIs and service contracts.
- Develop automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
- Support build, test, deployment, and quality assurance processes in CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor application performance, investigate production issues, and improve resilience, throughput, and latency.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions with business analysts, product owners, QA engineers, and infrastructure teams.
- Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance to junior developers, and promote software engineering best practices.
- Maintain technical documentation for solution designs, APIs, integration patterns, operational procedures, and deployments.
- Identify opportunities to improve architecture, automation, observability, security, and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience is required, including demonstrable lead involvement in at least one production-grade platform in financial services or a similarly regulated industry.
- Proven experience designing and developing microservices architectures using Java and Spring Boot.
- Strong hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, event-driven architecture, messaging patterns, and stream processing.
- Experience developing and deploying containerized applications with OpenShift, Kubernetes, or similar platforms.
- Experience building and supporting RESTful APIs and integration services in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, scalability, resilience, and fault-tolerant design.
- Expertise in object-oriented design, design patterns, secure coding, and test-driven development.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines with Bamboo, ArgoCD, or equivalent tools.
- Strong proficiency with Git and Bitbucket for source control and collaborative development.
- Experience with DevOps practices, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases, performance tuning, and data integration.
- Knowledge of logging, monitoring, tracing, and performance-management observability tools.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
