Base Salary
$129k - $209k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build foundational frontend systems, components, tools, and patterns used across Braze.
- Lead large projects end-to-end through technical design, implementation, testing, rollout, and operational follow-through.
- Improve developer experience in a large TypeScript and React codebase through abstractions, tooling, documentation, and examples.
- Build polished, accessible, performant, and consistent customer-facing product experiences.
- Partner with product engineers, designers, and infrastructure teams on cross-cutting frontend problems.
- Mentor engineers through code review, pairing, technical guidance, and clear communication.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of technical impact.
- Highly skilled in modern frontend development, especially TypeScript and React.
- Experience building reusable frontend systems, components, tools, or infrastructure.
- Strong focus on user experience, accessibility, performance, and maintainability.
- Comfort working in a large frontend codebase with many stakeholders.
- Clear communication, effective collaboration, and a commitment to raising the technical bar.
- Preferred experience with design systems or component libraries, Cypress or Jest, code generation, linting, codemods, developer tooling, internationalization, localization, accessibility, or Ruby on Rails.
