Responsibilities
- Define the technical vision, architecture, and execution strategy for Helios services.
- Lead the design and development of scalable platform capabilities for enterprise and service-provider deployments.
- Drive strategic technical initiatives, roadmap execution, architecture reviews, design discussions, and technical deep dives.
- Establish engineering practices for code quality, security, observability, performance, maintainability, automation, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with architecture, product management, customer success, security, and partner engineering teams to create scalable technical solutions.
- Participate in strategic customer and partner engagements, executive reviews, design workshops, and proof-of-concept initiatives.
- Influence product strategy and roadmap based on customer feedback and industry trends.
- Mentor engineers and influence technical decisions across multiple teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 8 years of experience designing, developing, and delivering large-scale software systems and distributed applications.
- Strong programming skills in one or more modern languages such as Java, Go, or Python.
- Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL and MongoDB, and knowledge of database design, optimization, scalability, and performance tuning.
- Experience designing scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable software architectures.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and system design.
- Experience with cloud-native technologies, microservices architectures, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, CI/CD practices, and operational excellence.
- Ability to lead complex technical initiatives from design through delivery and drive technical strategy for large-scale engineering efforts.
- Experience with observability, monitoring, automation, and site reliability engineering practices.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, debugging, communication, collaboration, and cross-team influence skills.
- Experience with AI-powered engineering tools and developer productivity platforms is required.
- Prior data protection or backup solution experience is an added advantage.
