Base Salary

$140k - $190k/yr

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain Scala backend systems using Kubernetes for container orchestration.
Architect, deploy, and manage scalable, available, and resilient backend applications in Kubernetes.
Implement and enhance microservices and distributed systems for high-performance, low-latency trading applications.
Build monitoring and logging solutions to analyze backend performance in real time.
Integrate backend systems with market data feeds.
Collaborate with frontend developers, UX/UI designers, engineers, and project managers to deliver trading solutions.
Maintain technical documentation for backend systems, Kubernetes configurations, and deployment procedures.
Own projects through design, implementation, testing, deployment, maintenance, and iteration.

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
At least 6 years of software development experience designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining real-time applications.
Professional experience with Scala backend development.
Experience with Kubernetes and cloud services such as Google Cloud Platform.
Strong accuracy, analytical, problem-solving, communication, ownership, and collaboration skills.
Financial knowledge is a bonus.
Experience using AI/ML tools or technologies for software development, system performance, or automation is a bonus.

Hybrid Chicago schedule with in-office work Tuesday through Thursday and remote work Monday and Friday.
20 additional flex remote days annually and five company-wide office-optional weeks tied to major holidays.
