Responsibilities
- Own ambiguous, high-impact problems end to end, from technical strategy through implementation, testing, and production operation.
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of critical warehouse logistics systems.
- Design and maintain scalable software architecture while making trade-offs for reliability and increased throughput.
- Improve engineering quality through code reviews, technical mentorship, and guidance for other engineers.
- Collaborate with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, stakeholders, and partner logistics teams.
- Scale core logistics systems to additional warehouse facilities and support reliable operations.
Requirements
- Experienced with JVM-based languages such as Java and Kotlin, with strong Spring Boot experience.
- Able to translate ambiguous business requirements into clear technical solutions.
- Experienced designing and building large-scale distributed systems using sound architecture, API, and testing practices.
- Strong understanding of production reliability, scalability, data structures, SQL, and NoSQL.
- Experienced with logical replication, synchronizing two architectures, and solving complex data problems.
- Experienced building systems that combine transactional data sources with analytical workloads.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously within a team.
- Experience with Zalando’s Warehouse Management System (Zalos) and Unit Lifecycle mechanics is a bonus.
