Responsibilities
- Champion shift-left testing and embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated testing frameworks across web, API, and mobile platforms.
- Develop testing strategies spanning unit, integration, API, end-to-end, accessibility, exploratory, performance, security, and reliability testing.
- Partner with engineers, product managers, and designers to identify risks early and improve testability.
- Coach and mentor engineers on quality engineering, automation, and testing practices.
- Improve quality standards, tooling, processes, and automated testing quality gates in CI/CD pipelines.
- Promote shared ownership of quality so teams can build, test, and release software confidently.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience implementing shift-left and quality engineering methodologies in agile product development environments.
- Strong quality engineering experience across frontend, backend, API, mobile, and end-to-end testing.
- Experience with Cypress, Playwright, Cucumber, Postman, CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, and GitHub.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, quality risks, and testability considerations.
- Proven ability to influence engineering teams and coach developers without direct authority.
- Strong communication, collaboration, stakeholder management, and organisational skills.
- Familiarity with non-functional testing, including performance, security, accessibility, and reliability testing.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted software development, AI testing tools, and validating AI-generated code is optional but highly regarded.
