Responsibilities

Provide architectural oversight and review designs for services, APIs, and data flows.
Make trade-offs involving performance, reliability, scalability, and speed to market.
Define coding standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices.
Mentor engineers on system design, code quality, and operational excellence.
Design and implement robust, scalable, secure backend services.
Own end-to-end delivery from requirements gathering through deployment, monitoring, and support.
Troubleshoot production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvements.
Own and evolve the team’s technology roadmap, including evaluation of tools, platforms, and architectural patterns.
Translate business requirements into technical solutions and communicate them to non-technical audiences.
Collaborate with Product, DevOps, QA, SRE, and other stakeholders on priorities and delivery timelines.
Establish monitoring, alerting, and DevSecOps strategies with SRE and DevOps teams.
Ensure services meet security, compliance, and data-privacy standards.
Drive capacity planning, performance tuning, and cost-optimization initiatives.
Foster experimentation, documentation, knowledge sharing, and a strong engineering culture.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
8+ years of backend development experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or senior architect role.
Expertise in Java and Spring Boot or equivalent backend stacks such as Node.js, Go, or Python.
Proven experience designing and operating microservices at scale, including REST APIs and event-driven architectures.
Strong understanding of relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases such as Redis and MongoDB.
Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and Kubernetes.
Excellent debugging skills and the ability to diagnose complex distributed-system issues.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and grow engineering teams.
Experience with Kafka, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, caching strategies, and OpenTelemetry is preferred.
Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, code scanning, secret management, SCA, SAST, and DAST, is preferred.
Experience with quality automation for critical applications is preferred.
Understanding of React, React Native, and Flutter to align backend design with UI requirements is preferred.
