Responsibilities
- Design and deliver full-stack product features end to end with limited supervision.
- Build Ruby on Rails APIs, GraphQL endpoints, and Vue 3 and SvelteKit front ends.
- Contribute to the migration of micro-frontends to Vue 3 while maintaining the SvelteKit application.
- Develop event-driven services using EventBridge and SQS, emphasizing idempotency and reliable asynchronous processing.
- Optimize Lambda-backed worker infrastructure supporting more than 400 workers.
- Work across MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Redis while maintaining tenant isolation and compliance guarantees.
- Create Terraform modules and GitLab CI/CD pipelines for deployments across environments and AWS regions.
- Solve complex technical problems, contribute to design discussions, conduct code reviews, and provide technical guidance.
- Help maintain the quality, reliability, and compliance posture of owned systems while collaborating with Product and engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 5 years of experience, master’s degree or equivalent plus 3 years, or Ph.D. or equivalent plus 2 years.
- Production experience with Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, and relational database design and tuning using MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- Proficiency with a modern component framework and strict TypeScript; Vue 3 is preferred, SvelteKit is highly valued, and React experience is applicable.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services including ECS/Fargate, Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, and S3.
- Working knowledge of Terraform and GitLab CI/CD.
- Understanding of event-driven patterns, asynchronous processing, eventual consistency, and idempotency tradeoffs.
- Ability to write well-tested, maintainable code, participate in code reviews and design discussions, and communicate clearly in writing.
- Comfort using AI coding tools such as Claude and Claude Code.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with front-end framework migrations, scaling Rails applications, serverless background-processing frameworks, DynamoDB and Redis data modeling, regulated environments, and AI tooling integration.
