Senior Software Development Engineer in Test

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable UI, API, and integration test automation frameworks for web and mobile applications
- Develop and own comprehensive regression suites for the multi-state health insurance platform
- Embed with product engineering squads to define testable acceptance criteria and test strategies and shift quality left
- Build and maintain CI/CD-integrated test pipelines for pull requests and deployments
- Explore and implement LLM-assisted test generation, intelligent test maintenance, self-healing test suites, and autonomous QA agents
- Investigate and triage production issues, perform root cause analysis, and create regression tests to prevent recurrence
- Define quality metrics and reporting for test coverage, defect trends, and release readiness
- Mentor developers and promote testability and quality engineering best practices
Requirements
- Significant hands-on experience as an SDET, Test Automation Engineer, or Quality Engineer in a software product environment
- Deep experience building test automation frameworks from scratch and making tooling, pattern, and infrastructure architecture decisions
- Strong programming skills in Java, Python, TypeScript, or similar languages
- Experience testing web applications using technologies such as React, Next.js, React Native, or Flutter and backend services using Spring Boot or similar JVM-based stacks
- Proficiency with API and integration testing, GraphQL, and contract testing
- Hands-on experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, including Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, and DynamoDB
- Ability to read application code, debug distributed systems, investigate production issues, and perform root cause analysis
- Strong communication and peer-level influence skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- Must be based in California
