Responsibilities

  • Design and build backend services for search, remediation, and quarantine workflows across multi-tenant enterprise email environments.
  • Scope, develop, and deliver features end-to-end with the Tech Lead, Engineering Manager, and Product Manager.
  • Own system reliability through unit testing, integration testing, production observability, and operational improvements.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and troubleshoot and resolve customer issues.
  • Contribute to customer-facing REST API design for security operations teams.
  • Use AI development tools to improve productivity and deliver reliable production outcomes.
  • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
  • Communicate updates, surface blockers, and propose solutions in an async-first environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems, or a related engineering field is required.
  • At least 3 years of industry experience in backend development and distributed systems is required.
  • Experience building features and components from scratch and operating them in production is required.
  • Experience improving service reliability, resiliency, and observability in production systems is required.
  • Strong computer science, data structures, and system design fundamentals are required.
  • Experience working with distributed teams and proficiency in asynchronous and written communication are required.
  • Experience with Python, Go, AWS, Kubernetes, and Django is preferred.
  • Experience with search systems, remediation workflows, SOC operational tooling, SIEM/SOAR integrations, platform APIs, email security, DMARC, DKIM, or cybersecurity products is preferred.
