Base Salary
$188k - $263k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and implement seller- and advertiser-facing experiences for product promotion, campaign management, and sales improvement.
- Design and develop highly available, scalable software applications and public APIs.
- Test and continuously deploy software code.
- Identify project risks, assess risk-benefit relationships, and propose mitigation strategies and alternatives.
- Contribute to technical discussions, select approaches and tools, mentor others, and promote engineering best practices.
- Work within cross-functional agile teams and eBay’s internal open-source community.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent plus five years of relevant experience.
- Two years of experience with Java, Scala, Python, or Android.
- Two years of experience with API development and frameworks such as Avro and Protobuf.
- Two years of experience with Spark, Flink, Kafka, Druid, or Presto.
- Two years of experience with Hive, Cassandra, MongoDB, Redis, or Elasticsearch.
- Two years of experience with Hadoop ecosystem technologies including Pig, Hive, or Oozie.
- Two years of experience with Goblin Cache or RocksDB.
- Two years of experience with Airflow and Docker.
- Two years of experience with Chef, Puppet, or CFEngine.
- Two years of experience with Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana, or ServiceNow.
- Two years of experience with prompt engineering and generative AI technologies.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Benefits
- Partial telecommuting is permitted from within a commutable distance of San Jose, California.
- The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
