Base Salary
$170k - $255k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance Linux Kernel features involving KVM virtualization, scheduling, memory management, and IOMMU.
- Optimize DVFS and system performance for ARM-based platforms.
- Design system architecture, analyze requirements, and maintain technical documentation.
- Debug complex software issues using JTAG debuggers and contribute to upstream Linux Kernel projects.
- Perform pre-silicon development using FPGA-based platforms and QEMU.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams and supervise direct reports.
- Develop security features and architectures, conduct vulnerability and risk assessments, perform threat analysis and security code reviews, and drive remediation of product security risks.
- Respond to product security incidents and lead secure development processes, training, and tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 6+ years of Software Engineering or related experience; or a master's degree plus 5+ years; or a PhD plus 4+ years.
- 3+ years of work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Strong Linux Kernel development experience, particularly with KVM, schedulers, memory management, and device trees.
- Knowledge of ARMv8 and ARMv9 architecture and extensions.
- Understanding of computer system architecture, including cores, caches, memory models, and bus architecture.
- Experience with board and SoC bring-up, device drivers, SPI, I2C, USB, and DDR memory controllers.
- Familiarity with Git or other SCM tools and JTAG debugging technologies.
- Experience contributing to open-source projects, preferably the Linux Kernel.
- Strong debugging skills and practical experience with ARM-based platforms.
- Experience with software and system performance management tools and frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with embedded systems software development methodologies.
- Preferred master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 4+ years of software development experience or equivalent.
