Responsibilities
- Design and implement technology solutions for Fidelity Digital Assets trading systems.
- Develop high-performance algorithms and ultra-low-latency cryptocurrency trading systems.
- Build and maintain matching engines, OMS/EMS capabilities, exchange connectivity, smart routing, market-data aggregation, APIs, and resilient services.
- Write code for product features and provide design, release, and delivery support.
- Set technical direction for software developers in partnership with technical leads and architects.
- Collaborate with business partners, stakeholders, and large cross-functional teams on business-critical initiatives.
- Guide, coach, and mentor junior engineers and contribute to organizational innovation.
- Deliver reliable, maintainable, secure, scalable software with a high degree of automation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- 10+ years of trading engineering experience.
- Capital markets or cryptocurrency experience, including trading or algorithmic trading exposure.
- Strong experience designing and developing low-latency trading systems and modern Java using zero-GC patterns.
- Knowledge of WebSocket and FIX protocols.
- Experience building matching engines, OMS/EMS platforms, or exchange-connectivity systems.
- Experience with kernel bypass technologies such as Solarflare OpenOnLoad.
- Hands-on experience with low-latency messaging products such as Aeron, Solace, or 29West.
- Proficiency in SQL and working knowledge of relational and time-series databases.
- Experience designing APIs, distributed systems, asynchronous workers, and resilient messaging services.
- Understanding of microservice architecture, cloud-based deployments, and sequencer architecture.
- Ability to provide technical leadership, mentorship, ownership, and accountability across agile teams.
- Proficiency with version control systems and handling multiple releases in parallel.
- Knowledge of Agile or iterative development processes; acceptance test-driven development is a plus.
- Strong analytical, communication, organizational, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Interest in cryptocurrencies and commitment to keeping current with the digital-asset space.
