Responsibilities
- Develop organization-wide architectures, strategies, and methodologies for software systems across multiple platforms and organizations.
- Recommend new technologies, innovations, and outsourced development partner relationships and create plans for architectural integration and updates.
- Review and influence software designs and project activities for compliance with development guidelines and standards.
- Provide solutions that improve product quality and reduce failure risk.
- Influence executive leadership, outsourced development partners, and industry standards groups through software architecture expertise.
- Mentor less-experienced team members and contribute to their career growth.
- Act as an internal authority and consultant on software systems design across organizations and business units.
- Contribute to the external technical community through whitepapers, patents, or other significant innovations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent.
- Typically 12+ years of experience.
- Experience architecting, designing, and developing innovative software system design tools and languages.
- Experience leading the overall architecture of software systems for products and solutions.
- Experience designing and integrating efficient, scalable software systems across multiple platform types.
- Experience evaluating and selecting software systems testing processes and methodologies, including test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
- History of innovation demonstrated through multiple patents or deployed software-design solutions.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, including the ability to communicate complex concepts to executives and business leaders.
