Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, debugs, and troubleshoots secure, high-quality production software solutions.
- Reviews code written by other engineers and promotes consistent secure coding, peer review, automated testing, and reusable engineering patterns.
- Leads adoption and safe validation of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering tools for coding, code review, testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
- Uses software development lifecycle tools and automation to improve delivery and operational outcomes.
- Identifies and automates remediation of recurring issues to improve application and system stability.
- Leads technical evaluation sessions with vendors, startups, and internal teams concerning architecture and integration with existing systems.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Expert-level proficiency with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, microservices, MQ, Apache Kafka, REST APIs, gRPC, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL.
- Experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Proficiency across the software development lifecycle and practical cloud-native experience.
- Advanced understanding of application resiliency and security practices.
- Preferred familiarity with post-trade functions including trade settlements and SWIFT messages, and with financial-services IT systems.
