Senior Software Engineer
MorningstarResponsibilities
- Prepare custom Level 3 client reports from specified requirements and data sets.
- Design, develop, and deploy AI agents for intelligent data and reporting functions.
- Develop and maintain correction files and tools for data adjustments.
- Automate repetitive tasks using Python scripts and Excel macros.
- Perform data validation and quality checks while ensuring compliance with internal standards.
- Query and manage data using AWS Athena and Aurora for scalable, performant processing.
- Collaborate with Data Services, Client Services, Business Analysts, and Data Engineering teams.
- Document report-generation and correction workflows and maintain clear process guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Python, including Pandas and NumPy.
- Strong knowledge of API integration and extraction from structured and unstructured data sources.
- Advanced SQL knowledge for querying and managing relational databases.
- Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and automation techniques.
- Knowledge of distributed computing and data engineering techniques for scalable data processing.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Athena, Aurora, and S3.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines.
- Preferred: experience with Power BI or Tableau, familiarity with Git and workflow automation, and knowledge of financial data and reporting standards.
