Software Engineer III
JPMorgan ChaseResponsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain secure, high-quality production software and algorithms.
- Build and operate batch-processing systems, data pipelines, scheduled workflows, ETL/ELT processing, backfills, monitoring, alerting, and incident triage.
- Implement data quality, validation, metadata, lineage, access controls, retention, and auditability capabilities.
- Build and maintain Spring Boot APIs and backend services, including service contracts, error handling, authentication and authorization integration, testing, performance tuning, and documentation.
- Use AWS cloud services and cloud-native practices to deliver scalable, resilient, secure, observable, and cost-aware solutions.
- Use enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, troubleshooting, refactoring, and documentation while validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Produce architecture and design artifacts and ensure software implementations meet design constraints.
- Analyze large and diverse datasets to create visualizations and reporting and identify patterns that improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
- Guide peers on responsible and secure use of AI-assisted engineering tools.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining software in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database-querying languages.
- Production experience with Java and/or Python building reliable services and data-processing components.
- Hands-on experience building and operating batch-processing systems and associated production data workflows.
- Strong knowledge of AWS cloud services and cloud-native engineering practices, including security, scalability, resiliency, observability, and cost awareness.
- Practical experience building and operating Spring Boot APIs and REST services, including validation, testing, performance tuning, and documentation.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and the ability to evaluate, validate, and refine generated outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and agile development practices.
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies and cloud technologies is preferred.
- Experience with data lakes, data warehouses, distributed processing frameworks, orchestration, and data quality, metadata, and lineage capabilities at scale is preferred.
- Experience with infrastructure as code, automated environment provisioning, Terraform or CloudFormation, and observability practices is preferred.
