Software Engineer III - JAVA Backend, Kafka, JSON
JPMorgan ChaseResponsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain secure, high-quality production software solutions.
- Build and maintain Java backend applications and algorithms using enterprise technologies including Spring, Kafka, JMS, Hibernate, JSON, RESTful services, and Kubernetes.
- Create architecture and design artifacts and ensure software implementation complies with design constraints.
- Analyze and visualize large, diverse datasets to identify system and coding improvements.
- Provide rotating 24x7 Developer Level 3 operational support for applications.
- Use enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation while validating generated outputs.
- Identify hidden problems and data patterns and use findings to improve coding hygiene, architecture, resiliency, and security.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of applied software engineering experience with formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, debugging, maintenance, and operational stability.
- Strong Core Java 17+, Spring Framework, JMS, Kubernetes, Kafka, Hibernate, JSON, RESTful services, relational databases, Oracle, complex SQL querying, and UNIX.
- Strong object-oriented analysis, design, and development skills with knowledge of design patterns.
- Proficiency with Bitbucket, Maven, Jenkins, IntelliJ IDEA, Cucumber, JUnit, and AI tools such as Copilot.
- Experience critically evaluating and refining AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, security, and responsible handling of sensitive data.
- Understanding of the software development life cycle, application resiliency, security, and agile practices.
- Preferred: financial domain knowledge, Scrum experience, and exposure to cloud-based projects.
