Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own low-level systems across Fusion, Fusion Snapshots, Ignite, and Sched.
- Write reliable, well-tested code primarily in Go and C, with Rust and JVM technologies as needed.
- Work with FUSE filesystems, Linux namespaces, CRIU checkpoint/restore, process supervision, signal handling, and static musl builds.
- Develop multi-cloud orchestration and scheduling capabilities across AWS, Azure, and GCP, including instance selection, autoscaling, spot-instance fault tolerance, and durable asynchronous queues.
- Drive performance engineering involving chunked I/O, multi-level caching, buffer pools, and bandwidth management.
- Set technical direction, improve testing and observability, and mentor and onboard engineers.
Requirements
- Deep experience building production-grade systems software with technical ownership at Staff level.
- Strong Go skills and comfort with C or C++, plus strong knowledge of Linux internals including filesystems, namespaces, processes, signals, and networking.
- Experience building distributed or cloud-native systems and understanding multi-cloud failure modes.
- Ability to write clear, well-structured, well-tested code and work independently in ambiguous environments.
- Genuine openness to using AI extensively in daily engineering work.
- Preferred experience includes CRIU, checkpoint/restore, process migration, FUSE or VFS work, Rust, Groovy, Java, Micronaut, container runtimes, Docker internals, Kubernetes, AWS Batch, Google Batch, Azure Batch, applied ML, data engineering, or open-source contributions.
