Responsibilities
- Set technical direction and reference architectures for generative AI, agentic systems, machine learning, and supporting platforms.
- Own critical AI design decisions with Architecture and provide technical assurance for high-risk designs.
- Act as an escalation point for complex engineering trade-offs and solve difficult problems with delivery teams.
- Define AI engineering standards, reusable patterns, best practices, testing approaches, and observability practices.
- Champion the reuse and evolution of shared AI platforms, gateways, and governance tooling.
- Identify and address model risk, data privacy, security, and model drift in partnership with Cyber and Risk.
- Evaluate emerging AI, machine learning, and agentic engineering technologies and approaches.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, or a related field; advanced degrees are preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in software, AI/ML, or data engineering roles.
- Sustained experience designing and shipping complex AI solutions to production at scale.
- Principal-level or senior technical leadership experience setting architecture and standards across multiple teams and leading through influence.
- Deep expertise in generative AI, LLM-based systems, agentic systems, and MLOps/LLMOps, including evaluation, monitoring, and safe deployment.
- Extensive hands-on experience with major cloud platforms, preferably Azure, including AI/ML services, APIs, containers, and modern integration patterns.
- Expert proficiency in Python and modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted and agentic software development workflows.
- Deep understanding of CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and software engineering principles, with experience embedding them across teams.
